This is a much anticipated event that tries to bring awareness to using locally resourced goods, as well as trying to educate on being environmentally conscious. There was a giant farmers market, live music, demos, and plenty of delicious food.
It’s held in a town called Unity, Maine. So fitting.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m from the south but I just felt so out of my element. It had such a barefoot, homegrown, hippie vibe that I felt like a fish out of water. I’ve never seen so much tie dye and bare feet. I saw a hipster wearing a blazer carrying a camelbak. It was confusing and jarring but refreshing at the same time. I just felt so uptight!

It was a great event for the kids. Demos, crafts and fun food. It’s great that they cater to the little ones. One great takeaway is the knowledge of fire roasted dough. Life changing.

There was so much yummy food! These are just a couple if the things we sampled. Wood fired flatbread with butternut squash, sausage, and greens. We also tried pie in a cone. Fun idea but it fell a little flat for us.
We had a great time and look forward to next year. I’ll try and remember to bring a jacket!!

  1. Barefoot and dye tie-that sounds like my kind of place. Were they sitting around a fire singing “Kumbaya My Lord”? šŸ˜‰
Looks and sounds like a fun time.
